This page is dedicated to the memory of Dominic Pelicano, one of our founding members who passed away on May 11, 2004. Dominic started playing guitar at an early age and by the time he was twelve he had taught himself Steve Vai solos. He quickly turned to jazz however and by the time he was in Damascus High School he joined the jazz band as the guitar player. His jazz influence was evident in his playing. His solos and phrasing were often reminiscent of the "bebop" and "hardbop" era of jazz. His choice of jazz chords gave our covers a different flavor. Once he started playing jazz, he had no more use for effects pedals. He also had the incredible ability to tune his guitar without the aid of any type of tuner, pitch pipe or other instrument. His soloing ability took many different turns on songs like Elizabeth Reed and L.A. Woman. He would often get so absorbed in the music we would have to find his "off" button.
His other passion and major in college was art. He was attending the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Please visit the Dominic Pelicano Memorial Foundation website for more information and to view the online gallery and information.
